For Micropixel PMU, a special pigmentation machine and special Nano needle is used to apply mini-dots or pixels of pigment to the surface of the skin. This technique is very mild for the skin, making the healing process quick and easy. Immediately after the treatment you are free to do whatever you want. Because there is no contact with blood (by needle or pigment), Micropixel is also suitable for the most sensitive skin. The result stays beautiful for a long time and the colour stays the same. Depending on the skin, a Micropixel PMU remains optimal for between 1.5 and 2 years. And if you don’t do anything about it, it will eventually fade out of your skin

Advantages of this technique: Suitable for all skin types and skin colours, no trauma, fast healing and no discoloration.

The treatment is not completely painless for everyone. Clients who are anxious for the treatment and women who are in their menstrual cycle may be a bit more sensitive. If it does become painful, the skin can be numbed. Often it is not necessary.

Permanent makeup is safe and not harmful to the skin. In some cases it is not recommended to undergo a PMU treatment. Below you will find a number of contraindications for PMU application:

  • If you have a scar at the area to be treated that is less than 1 year old
  • In an area where PMU or tattoo was lasered away less than 3 months ago/ area where a laser wound has not yet healed.
  • If you have had botox or fillers less than 3 weeks ago
  • In an area where you have undergone plastic surgery or radiation during the past year.
  • If you have had a chemical peel or fruit acid treatment less than 4 weeks ago
  • In an area where PMU was applied less than 6 weeks prior.
  • On irritated skin such as bumps, dark moles or swellings.
  • PMU cannot be applied on birthmarks

Also consider the following:

  • Do not use blood-thinning medicines in the 2 days prior to treatment (if your doctor allows).
  • Do not use eyebrow paint in the 4 weeks prior to treatment.
  • Do not use eyebrow growth serum in the 6 months prior to treatment.
  • After eyelid correction: wait 3 months before undergoing pmu treatment.
  • After using Roaccutane: wait 6 months before undergoing pmu treatment.

The end result remains beautiful for a long time and is always stays the same colour. 2 treatments are needed and there is a minimum of 4 weeks between the treatments. After the first treatment, the result is beautiful. The second treatment is for the finishing touch and to guarantee a long lasting beautiful result. Depending on the skin structure, a Micropixel PMU remains optimal for between 1.5 and 2 years. For very oily skin, for example, the duration will be shorter than average. But for most, a refresher treatment is only necessary after 2 years. After 2 years, the pigment begins to fade and will slowly disappear from your skin.

Bear in mind that in exceptional cases such as damaged skin or very oily skin, a third treatment may be necessary.

The area on your skin where the PMU is applied can turn a little bit red, but the redness disappears very quickly, often before you leave our studio. After the treatment your skin needs between 4 and 6 weeks to fully recover from the treatment. A thin flaky scab may occur in the first 6 days. Try not to touch this, it will disappear again. The colour of the eyebrows will become up to 40% lighter during the healing period. As a result, the eyebrows also looks thinner than when they have just been applied.

For PMU on the lips preventive use of zovirax or another cream with the active substance Aciclovir or Penciclovir is advisable during the first 7 days.

When you want to draw your eyebrows again, this is usually the time to do a “touch-up” treatment. A touch-up treatment usually consists of 1 treatment. An adjusted rate applies for this.

If you wait until your PMU is completely blurred, the specialist must start all over again and the rate for a new treatment will apply.

If you have had PMU done before, you first have to send a photo for advice. We must first assess these to see if we can treat you.

First, we have an intake interview to discuss your wishes. A consent form will be filled in to ensure that we have all the medical information needed before the procedure can begin, to rule out any contraindications and to ensure that treatment is carried out safely and responsibly. Then we will together determine the most beautiful shape for your face. The shape is always tailor-made and drawn by looking at your unique facial features, your contours, your bone structure and your own eyebrows. We never work with standard shapes or templates. We want to reveal your unique natural beauty, that’s why the eyebrow shape is created and measured to size. I draw this on your face and after we agree that this shape suits you best, I determine the colour based on your natural skin colour and hair colour, in order to arrive at perfect eyebrows for you. Then the actual pigmentation starts. A photo will be taken before and after the treatment.

Yes, Micropixel PMU ensures that your eyebrows are visible and that you maintain your facial expression when your own eyebrow hairs fall out as a result of chemotherapy. Since hair loss due to chemo is temporary, it is preferable to apply the permanent make-up before you begin chemotherapy so that your eyebrows are adjusted to your normal returning hair growth. We do, however, ask you to consult with your treating physician that you want to have permanent make-up applied.

We always make around 3 hours free for the treatment of the eyebrows and longer for the lips, this includes the consultation. Especially during the first treatment, we take plenty of time during the intake to discuss your wishes and possibilities and to determine the best shape and color for your face.
